Zingers
7/10/2024
What just happened there?
Zinger.
In the increasingly remote world of work, the relationships at work have become more transactional.
More email and text messages.
Fewer F2F conversations, fist bumps, or pats on the back.
And sometimes professionalism is lost … send a zinger in a time of frustration, especially if over text or email … transferring pain.
Remote, isolation, phones, computers …
Not good for work relationships (not good for society overall either … different conversation, different day).
Minds are easily captured, and it’s easy to zing if something doesn’t go to plan.
But remote work isn’t going away.
It’s here to stay.
Too many overall lifestyle positives for remote workers.
Some Thoughts on Modern Written Communication at work!
If it’s in writing, make sure it is positive, or at least as positive as it can be. Because the other party is going to read it over and over.
On the other end of the electronic communication, is a person, with emotions, thoughts and feelings.
For receivers of zingers …. the sender of a negative message may be going through something themselves.
Life is hard these days. Work is hard.
Infinite battles and struggles for most, and it’s not likely to change.
It’s what life and the world of work has become.
Want to stand out in a good way?
Grace …
Appreciation …
Positive vibes …
Gratitude …
Go above and beyond …
Give 80 … expect 20 ….
Song in your heart … smile on your face …
Don’t zing.
You just never know when your next zing may be your last.
68-72, rain … rain … rain …
Make it a great day, everyone!
