To Get or Not to Get

It’s always nice in hiring when a great candidate who is motivated for change and has realistic compensation expectations pops across the desk.

Doesn’t happen often.

But when it does, it would be impossible to move quick enough in bringing them on-board.

Most hiring situations are similar to a recent hiring experience with one of our clients, “The candidate is great, is a go-getter, but I wish he had more experience”………

Most of the time, something is not exactly as it was planned to be when hiring.

And because of this, adjustments and negotiations are needed.

Not negotiation in a traditional sense.

Negotiation with yourself as a hiring manager, what are you willing to live with in the new hire?

What adjustment outside of the box are you ok with?

I always felt that a good attitude is the default for ‘yes’ when hiring, because it’s not something that can be trained.

Experience … product … customers … these items can be taught.

But a go-getter? ……

I say get your product training program in order … because a ‘go-getter’ ….. that’s a no brainer …. go get him!

52-75, sunshine.

Happy, Monday everyone!
