The 80/20 rule.

Most of you have heard of the Pareto Principle.

There are variations.

80% of the output comes from 20% of the input.

20% of the customers, make up 80% of the business.

20% of the people, product 80% of the work.

All statistics point to incredible amounts of job changes for employees in 2023.

And this is following the recent ‘Great Layoffs’, and the ‘Great Resignation’.

There are fundamental breakdowns in relationships between employers and employees.

All levels.

No signs of it changing anytime soon.

But there is a way for marked improvement to improve relationship strain.

What if the 80 / 20 rule was applied to the people you work with in your department?

Give 80 … expect 20 back.

Repeat, indefinitely.

There is a falsehood that is taught in most business 101 classes … if you give up something, expect something equal or more in return.

That is old school stuff.

Try giving more … and see what happens.

My best guess … over a short period of time … your relationships will have improved in the work place.

Who knows .. .maybe it’ll come back somehow with X multipliers attached to it.

Pro Tip …. try it in your personal life as well …

Pro Tip Plus …. for all the dudes out there, try to add some concentrated focused listening as well …. much, much, easier said than done.

I think there is a great opportunity to apply the 80/20 rule to business relationships.

There is a breakdown in human relationships in society.

Want a strong relationship
