Not much hockey in Sandusky, OH where I grew up.

But I’ve enjoyed following Hockey since moving to Metro Detroit in 2000.

Hockey Town.

This year’s Stanley Cup playoffs were incredible to watch.

An example of how great teams will beat great individuals.

Connor McDavid who is regarded as the NHL’s best player was sensational, winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as the series outstanding player, despite his Oilers losing Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

The big story, belongs to the Florida Panthers, winning just their first Cup and almost surrendering a 3-0 series lead.

Their coach in the post-game interview …”The team is special … because of the way they treat each other”.


Great players are important.

Great teams … even better … the way you treat each other on a team … incredibly important as well.

Fun series also … because of the distance (2,600 miles), and difference of the cities … Edmonton and Miami.

And the cup remains in the USA … last held by a Canadian team in 1993, the Montreal Canadiens.
