My daughter Cassie had her first home dive meet this weekend at the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt), vs. Georgia Tech.

A privilege for her to be there.

All of the athletes were talented and conditioned.

Some had better days than others, but when mistakes were made, there was no frustration shown.

Smiles and positive body language.

The past dive attempt did not matter.

The entire focus was on the next dive.

And then, the next.

And the next.

Tremendous coaching and team culture.


When a dive didn’t go as planned, they surely were frustrated on the inside, but it didn’t show.


I’m curious if teammates in the workplace would appreciate such positive responses to adversity?

Keeping composure when things don’t go well, yet another option to stand out in a good way in the world of work.
