Selling Yourself

The interview is the purest form of selling in business.

Selling yourself to get a position, and showing what you can do for the company.

You’ve got to be prepared to answer their questions.

But good responses are not enough to separate yourself from the pack during an interview process.

Selling is more than telling.

It’s imperative to ask good, thought provoking questions that show you have insight into their business, the interviewers, and the position.

1. I noticed the recent acquisition of ABC company. Based on this information, what anticipated growth opportunities do you see for the company in the near future?

2. I noticed that you attended State University in the early 2000’s, they had a great football team back then. I noticed you have a BSME, is that an advantage in this market?

3. The position description looks great. How would you define outstanding performance in the role? After 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 1 year?

There are endless possibilities here.

Put in the time with your own research, understand the landscape, and then go bring it home!

59-78, sun … but the days are getting shorter.

Make it a great day, everyone!
