Safety First

6/11/2024

Stopped in for a coffee to go at ‘First Watch’ yesterday … great coffee.

I was creeping backward slowly out of my parking space, as a car was making a left hand turn into the lane I was pulling out of.

I stopped as I was only a foot past the white line backing out.

The car kept coming, and coming and boom.

Ran right into me.

Couldn’t believe it.

I watched it happen.

Long story short. The driver didn’t have any paperwork. Because the vehicle they were driving, was a rental.

They were in an accident last week as well, and the car was getting fixed.

Driving by brail.

This person shouldn’t be driving.

A case for autonomous driving.

Fortunately above all else the driver was not injured. I was not injured … a bit of a sore neck feeling … but overall ok … like the next day feeling after getting sacked while on the scout team … but age 53 instead of age 21.

Got me thinking about driver safety.

The safety features in vehicles have improved tremendously over the past several years.

We pay for it with the price of vehicles for sure.

Curious what your thoughts are … the safety features in a vehicle that you prefer the most?

The incremental rice of safety features worth it?

49-72, clouds, sun.

Make it a great day, everyone!

Stay safe out there.

Broken tail light for me … here’s the rental, ramming vehicle.
