Recruiting Process Matters

We had a candidate in for final interviews with two companies.
Company #1 – Rolled out the red carpet, made the interview experience personalized, and gave a fair, competitive offer.
Company #2 – Had a disjointed recruiting process, provided mixed messages to the candidate, which lead to confusion, and then started with a low ball offer, but then as time went on, they kept creeping the offer upward, to where the offer is higher than company #1.
The candidate chose Company #1. Had more peace of mind, working with people that were stable, consistent in the approach.
Money certainly matters, but the entire recruiting process sometimes matters most.
20-29 degrees, and heavy snow fall last night, no school today.
