Recently we had a candidate receive a verbal offer …. YES, I want the job based on the terms and conditions provided.

Then after the offer was presented, the candidate started asking questions.

Can I work 100% remote?

Can I get an extra week of PTO?

What are the work hours?


Offer, pulled. Next candidate please.

In a tighter hiring market like the one that exists today, there is less tolerance during the hiring process.

So try to think through of all your possible questions, before the written offer is presented … especially as it relates to commitment to the work.
