Negotiating Offers

1/14/2025
We had a candidate recently withhold information and play hard ball during an offer conversation with a client, and they pulled the offer.
Both parties lost, because of unrealistic expectations.
If you’re in the market for a new position, and you are negotiating an offer, here are a few suggestions:
1. Be completely transparent with the compensation you are seeking, and ‘why’ that is the case, and if you receive that number you are a 100% ‘yes’ for acceptance.
2. Explain why you will not consider or entertain a counter-offer from your current employer.
3. Explain when you can start, and why, and also what planned days of vacation you have forthcoming.
This is ‘basic stuff’, but negotiating in good faith is the best way to get off on the right foot with the new employer.
12-19, cold, clouds.
Make it a great day, everyone!
