Sit in a circle, pass the message to the next person.
By the time the message gets all the way around, the message is not the same.
People hear what they want to.
Imagine a recruiting and hiring process.
CEO, VP, Director, Manager, HR, TA, 3rd Party Recruiter.
Ample opportunity for mixed messaging.
Mixed messages, lead to confusion.
Confusion is a primary reason why good candidates turn down positions.
Good hiring practices include taking the time to pass along the key must haves from the top to the bottom, and back up from the bottom to the top.
That’s how we role at SCN.
Heard this one recently, from a candidate who was interviewing for a position that was 100% in the office after the first interview “I thought this position was remote”…..
Well, this person is out. On to the next.
