Leadership Log Jam

4/29/2024

The next 5-10 years will pose some interesting challenges for the world of work as it relates to leadership positions.

Many boomers are staying in the workforce into their late 60’s and 70’s, many of these are leadership positions.

This causes a lot of Gen X people to miss out on some of these roles that they had been planning for.

Millennials have become frustrated at the career log-jam above them, and are throwing their hands up at the traditional corporate climb, and are focusing instead on individual contributor positions.

The concern for corporations, will then be the leadership pipeline. If it isn’t developed, and if there are not succession plans, there will be huge voids in leadership in the next 5-10 years.
