It Takes One To Make a Search Go Right

4/18/2023

Channeling the Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock beat, “It takes two to make a thing go right …”.

Just recently we were asked to take on a very challenging search with a great client.

Technical position.

Remote area.

Specification is tight.

Through a valiant recruiting effort, we were able to identify, qualify, and present an incredible match for the position.

And ….. the candidate is interested … and fits into the salary band.

When we got the call from the HR person after the interview we knew it was going to be offer time.

Fist-bumps and virtual fist-bumps to the recruiter who works off-site for us.

23 years in at SCN so far, we know what a perfect match looks like.

HR Manager, “We really like him, but we’d like to see a few more candidates before we make a decision”.

Insert Charlie Brown gif, screaming mouth wide open …..

Ha.

I am proud of our search consultant who kept composure during the debrief call.

“I understand what you are saying. We’ll run some search metrics for you, and present a Smart Search Consulting Report detailing the search activities thus far. And then we can schedule a conversation and determine a strategy forward”.

On difficult searches … where the plan is to hire one person … one great candidate can be enough for a great search.

It takes one to make a search go right.

Swiper and bandit in the snow last night.

April 17th.

75 degrees last week.

Snowing is not …. slowing ….. us down though.

Make it a great day, everyone!
