Interviewing White Light

7/30/2024

Had a candidate go through a final interview recently.

Wanted the job badly.

Hiring company delayed the offer a few weeks, and the candidate turned it down.

What happened?

1. Interest in the position faded (as it does for just about all candidates … each second that passes after the final interview … interest steadily decreases over time).

2. The candidate got another offer, that they committed ‘yes’ to.

The hottest point in an interview from a candidate’s perspective … right after the last interview.

That’s the white light point … the hottest point … the time to strike and hire if you are the hiring company.

It doesn’t mean the candidate won’t be open for hire a couple weeks down the road … it just means it will be a lot harder to get them.

Make it a great day, everyone!
