High Level Interviewing

3/13/2024

We have a candidate going in for a final interview, and it’s a very high level position. VP+. Compensation in the $300K – $500K, and will grow beyond over time.

I still like to jump in and have conversations with our candidates at this level before their key interviews.

Here’s what I told him.

1. They need to understand what truly motivates you. Do you like to win and within what is legal and ethical guidelines, what are you willing to do to win? 24/7 is what this level of position requires.

2. They need to trust that you will deliver for them … without question. Examples of your wins, and what level of commitment are you going to give them? 24/7 is what this level of position requires.

3. Through thick and thin … what is it going to be like working with you? How will you handle success and failure? Whether you are winning or losing, what is your commitment to the company’s mission? 24/7 is what this level of position requires.

Well … maybe not truly 24/7. Maybe 18/7? Maybe 14/7?

Are you in a position to handle this level of commitment?

Do you want to?
