And just think, he made that statement without the internet, phones, AI, or echo chambers on social media.

Last week people were enraged about a female boxer in the olympics who was born a man and handily beat another female boxer … turns out all of the enragement was ill placed. Said boxer was born a female, has always been a female, and had lost to nine other female boxers in her career. Huge anger and vitriol spilled … and it was all based on false information.


An encapsulation of where we have come as a society … anger, enragement, beliefs formed from information that is simply not true … not good.


A couple of thoughts on accessing information.

1. Memes are for entertainment purposes … not to be trusted as a source of information.

2. The best way to get news is from credible news outlets, from respected journalists, who do research, who verify information, and whose publications are fact based. I’ve linked the Ad Fontes media bias chart in the link below. It gives a rating on publications in terms of their accuracy and bias.

3. OPINION pieces are just that … even if from a respected publication … opinions are different from fact based news articles. So a publication then can have certain pieces that are opinion pieces and certain pieces that are actual news pieces.

4. Social Media posts … unless cited from a respectable news source … chance are the information is simply not true.

5. Influencers, podcasts, etc. …. those are opinions.
