That’s the theme at American Dunes in Grand Haven, MI.

Proceeds go to the Folds of Honor Foundation, which funds scholarships for military and first responder families.

It’s a combo memorial – museum – championship golf experience.

From the parking lot you enter through a military memorial and each hole has monuments, one for each of Jack Nicklaus’ major championships, and one for a military hero.

5:30 each day, no matter where you are on the course, stop for the National Anthem. On 18, you throw a nickel onto the grass, a military fighter pilot tradition.

A championship Nicklaus design, built into the dunes of W. MI plays 7,200 yards from the tips and the greens run between 11 and 12. Breathtaking and challenging.

Too much military history, golf history, and beauty to absorb in just one round.

They had a few birdies, I had none. Youth.
