Go big or Go Home?

We’ve all heard the saying.

A fun expression, really try to do something, or don’t try at all.

It’s not the approach as of late in the hiring market.

Even though hiring activity has increased, companies are watching closely, to not break the salary bands with new hires.

This approach works often.

But for exceptional candidates, who are in demand, it’s only a short-term solution.

They’ll receive other offers from other companies, and will have a foot out the door before they settle in for their 2nd holiday party.

All companies need people, and all companies want talent.

Because hiring markets always reconcile, it’s best to make exceptions, for exceptional people … if you want to keep them.
