I jumped in for some recruiting support this week, and here are my takeaways.

1. Recruiting is meaningful, satisfying work

2. 70% of people are seeking new positions, they want out of their jobs, they want something better, most employers do not treat their people well

3. Boomers are retiring by the thousands, each and every day … age 65 and out

What does all of this mean ….?

Employment market chaos.

Companies who become human capital experts will flourish, and others who are not in tune with their workers will suffer carnage.

According to recent economic data, there are 9.5 million job openings right now, but only 6.5 million unemployed workers.

Hot Company Initiatives for 2024 and Beyond:

1. Master Recruiting … the meaningful work just mentioned above

2. Improve Employee Retention

3. Boomer Knowledge Retention before they leave for good

4. Welcoming and adjusting to Gen Z workers (they’ll make up 27% of the workforce in a couple of years)

It won’t be easy, but there is opportunity, galore!
