Efficient Hiring

10/7/2024

We made a placement with a client recently and it happened quickly.

The hiring manager is smart and experienced, the HR Department was cooperative, and the company is serious about hiring great people.

The hiring team knows what ‘good’ looks like.

We presented a great candidate who was motivated for their opportunity and they pulled the trigger.

One of the biggest inefficiencies I see in companies is prolonging the hiring process when an excellent candidate is in play who is interested in the position.

Most common answers for prolonging the interview process.

We need to see more people.

Our policy is to interview at least 5 candidates.

I’d like to see who else is out there.

etc.

The challenge of course is that candidates who are interviewing for positions will lose interest if the process takes too long.

Then the search is back on, and another good candidate who is motivated for the opportunity needs to be recruited.

With the scarcity of good talent, not pulling the trigger when a great candidate is presented becomes one of the most inefficient hiring practices that companies can make.

And in business … inefficiency is NOT … the name of the game.

Tigers Game 2 today.

46-66, sunshine.

Make it a great one!
