A lot of early career professionals who I have met, are hesitant to follow-up on their job applications.

Hesitant to pick up the phone and call people or to email more than once.

Growing up on screens is a driving influence here.

Also a lot of Gen Z people have a heightened sensitivity to not create confrontation or inconvenience for others (which is admirable in many ways).

But the only way to get noticed on a job hunt is to assert yourself and that may mean creating an inconvenience for others.

Doing things that are uncomfortable, is a foundation of growth.
