A trend in business now that the economy is a bit tighter, still fighting headwinds with inflation and interest rates.

Dry promotion.

Give someone a promotion, more responsibility, bigger title.

But no raise in compensation.

Nothing to explain here.

Companies trying to keep people by promoting them.

Companies trying to hold back what they pay out, for more profit.

Employee has a decision to make. Yes, or no.
