People with great memories have a nice advantage in the world of work …. or do they?

Simple answer, they do if they are also process driven.

But sometimes the gift of a great memory can be an inhibitor if it influences someone to wing it, and not follow process.

Many years ago in my first management position, I managed the top salesperson in the company numbers-wise, out of 150 people.

His memory was awful.

But he wrote everything down (pre-electronic device days) and used checklists for everything.

He became so process driven and systematic in his approach to sales that he consistently stood out in a good way from anyone in the industry.

He checked all the checklists.

Flash forward to the modern world of work.

Tech, software, AI can all help with processes.

But a process driven human being is still needed to press the buttons to make sure the checklist has been completed.

Regardless of function, process driven people drive the highest efficiencies in business today.
