Changing Attitudes

10/23/2024

This past week, I personally was involved in some double vetting training calls at our firm.

We removed 5 candidates from the process prior to their scheduled first interview.

Hmmm.

Seems counter-intuitive.

An old recruiting adage … push for interviews … good things happen when people talk with each other.

Sure … especially when both parties have a legitimate reason to have a conversation.

It’s never worth wasting our client’s time though if we know the candidate isn’t going to be a match.

Basic professional courtesy.

If the candidate and spouse decided they want to leave AZ for Dallas .. and they are firm on it.

OK … new information, let’s take you out of process for the position in AZ, and focus on positions in Dallas.

If you’re in a job search right now, be sure to let your recruiting point of contact know what you are thinking and how you are feeling.

Attitudes often change during a search, and there is always momentum regarding interest.

Sometimes upward .. and sometimes downward.

Great recruiting and search consulting means being constantly dialed in to the minds of the people we are working with.

Because chances are …. they may have changed ….

Like the weather.

56-64, clouds and sunshine today. Overall a wonderful fall day.

Make it a great one, everybody!
