Changed / Not Changed

2/23/2024

Met with a client the other day with one of our stellar Search Consultants.

Absolutely beautiful office building.

Incredible.

Big.

Modern.

Extraordinarily decorated.

Professional Feel.

Empty …..

Except the 4 of us who were there, talking strategy with recruiting.

‘Change’ since covid was a topic of the meeting.

Look how empty the place was.

Got me thinking.

What are some things that should stand the test of time in business?

Regardless of generation or external factors that impact change (like a global pandemic that sets the world on fire ….).

Here’s my take on a few things that should never change in business.

1.) Providing 2 weeks notice of resignation

2.) Not accepting counter offers with your employer

3.) Extending professional courtesy to others

4.) Please … Thank you

5.) Doing what you say you were going to do

6.) Review meeting information, prior to to the meeting

Anything else?

Have fist bumps replaced handshakes?

In my world … it’s maybe 80% fist-bump … 20% handshake … ?

33-45, sunshine.

Make it a great day, everyone!

Some things in business should never change. Curious though, what’s the latest on the handshake? Still use them all the time?
