I’ve been jumping in on some interview prep training and here’s one thing that I’ve noticed.

A lot of the candidates who jump into the process have no serious intention about making a career move.

Maybe they’ll get an offer to use as a counter-offer.

Maybe they’ll have some fun, a nice distraction from their day to day life.

Maybe a remote hope that a company will throw a ridiculous high lottery ticket offer at them.

Casual interviewing.

It’s like casual dating.

Not for the serious minded.


One thing we try to do for our clients is bring forward people who have serious intentions.

I have hope in our future … because I’ve also come across a lot of terrific candidates who are motivated, and ready to impact the business.

Serious minded.

Marriage material … hiring material.
