Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Quality Manager to lead and oversee all quality control and assurance processes for our manufacturing operations. The Quality Manager will ensure that all products meet the highest standards of precision and performance. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s quality management systems to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance Leadership:
  • Lead the quality department and manage a team of inspectors, technicians, and engineers.
  • Oversee and continuously improve quality management systems (QMS), ensuring ISO 9001 and other relevant certifications are maintained.
  • Develop and enforce quality standards, policies, and procedures across the manufacturing process.

  • Inspection and Testing:
  • Ensure regular inspection of incoming raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
  • Establish and monitor testing methods for products, including hardness testing, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish evaluations.
  • Utilize tools such as CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and other precision instruments to verify specifications.

  • Process Improvement:
  • Analyze production processes to identify potential areas of quality improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to drive process optimization and waste reduction.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for any non-conformances or product failures.

  • Customer Focus:
  • Collaborate closely with customers to understand their quality expectations and ensure products meet or exceed those expectations.
  • Address customer complaints and lead investigations into quality-related issues, implementing corrective and preventive measures (CAPA).

  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, audits, and test results.
  • Provide regular reports on quality metrics such as defect rates, rework percentages, and cost of quality.
  • Lead internal and external audits to ensure compliance with QMS and regulatory requirements.

  • Training and Development:
  • Train production staff on quality control processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness across all departments.

Key Requirements

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Black Belt) preferred.

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality management, preferably in a metalworking or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with quality systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with precision measuring tools and quality testing equipment.

  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of CNC Machining processes, including turning, milling, drilling, and grinding.
  • Familiarity with metal cutting materials such as carbide, high-speed steel, PCD, reconditioning, and coatings.
  • Proficiency in quality improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and quality data analysis software.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for reviewing product specifications.
  • Experience with ERP systems for managing production and quality data.
