Background Requirements
- BS degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline. A second degree in electrical or computer science is preferable.
- The employee must possess a solid working knowledge of the assembly and test automation industry.
- Must have a solid understanding of all mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Must have at least fifteen years of automation machine design.
- Must be a well-rounded engineer by having experience in various industries and roles.
- Possess an extensive mechanical engineering skill level and be fluent in material handling, fabrication and machining technology, fastening methods and tools, dimensional test systems, robotics, machine vision, and related technologies.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage Applications Engineering and project assignments and schedules.
- Provide day to day guidance for quotes and concept completion.
- Enhance department tools either directly or utilizing teams within the department for items such as:
- Quote Template
- Costing database
- Costing tools
- Data Analytics
- Improve the current 2D & 3D CAD library.
- Department Process
- Department training.
- Work with sales and management on project priorities.
- Ensure concept reviews occur that will achieve maximum value for the client.
· Manufacturing, and Management personnel during related projects’ design, build, test, and installation phases to guarantee program continuity.
- Participate with relevant sales and application personnel in sales presentations at the company and at the prospect’s location, occasionally entertaining prospective clients when appropriate and within the constraints of company policy.
